CRPF trooper injured in Srinagar militant attack succumbs


Srinagar, Apr 4 (IANS): One of the two CRPF troopers injured in a militant attack in Srinagar city on Monday has succumbed to critical injuries, officials said.

The two troopers were injured when militants fired at them from close range in Maisuma locality of uptown Srinagar.

Doctors at the S.M.H.S hospital said one of the troopers admitted for treatment with critical injuries has succumbed.

Meanwhile, officials said that the area of the attack was cordoned off for searches.

Militants also fired at and injured two non-local labourers in Lajurah village of Pulwama district on Monday. Searches to nab the assailants have been started there as well.
