UP: Another District Magistrate suspended, second in a week


Lucknow, Apr 4 (IANS): The Yogi Adityanath-led government in Uttar Pradesh on Monday suspended Sunil Verma, the District Magistrate of Aurraiya, on charges of dereliction of duty and corruption.

According to official sources, a vigilance inquiry has also been initiated against the official.

Verma is the second DM to be suspended within a week. Earlier, Sonbhadra DM T.K. Shibu had been suspended for corruption in mining and negligence during elections.

SSP Ghaziabad, Pawan Kumar, was also suspended recently for his failure to control crime.
