Kundapur: Anybody can use mike subject to restrictions – Minister B C Patil

Kundapur, Apr 4: “There are several restrictions for the use of mikes under Police Act. Anybody can use mikes subject to those restrictions,” said minister B C Patil.

Speaking to reporters at Uppunda in the taluk on April 4, he said that there is permission to use mikes between 6 AM and 10 PM. “However, there is a rule that it should not go beyond 50 feet,” he said, speaking on the use of loudspeakers in mosques.

“The stand of the government on Halal and Jhatka is not important . The decision of buying is of the people. It is the opinion of people,” he said.

“Congress acts like people who see the world with a limited perspective. They blame BJP for their shortcomings. People should decide about food habits. Congress or BJP cannot decide them. We cannot force them,” B C Patil said.

“Siddaramaiah is feeling that the ground under his feet is collapsing. He has the fear of becoming weak and D K Shivakumar taking his position. He attacks BJP to show that he is influential. There is no need to give any other meaning to it,” he added.

Answering a question about the chief minister’s trip to Delhi, he said that he came to know of it from the newspapers and TV and denied knowledge about it.

No minister is completely wrong, mike should be banned in all public places including Mosques, Temple, Churches, and all religious places. One intelligent person was telling that what Muslims were doing before mike system came ???? But same time what inTemples people were doing before Mike system came???? Better to follow all steps which all were enjoying before 2014. India was peaceful in 65 years.

Very true. Loud music, crackers disturbs all aged people. Children can’t study and often ask why they disturb others. After working hard all day at office and home, the crackers and loud music won’t let to sleep well. Why no restrictions on them? Why do they not obey Supreme Court? The rules should be mandatory to all irrespective of caste. Live and let live.

These guys cannot speak about their accomplishments. I wonder what will these guys speak if 'Congress' is dissolved or does not exist anymore. Someone from the saffron brigade lights the fire, then the CM gives a statement to maintain peace, then the minister gives clarifications. Yehi hota rehta hai 5 years. Lage raho! What is Vikas doing? Laying 0000000000000ggs

The use of loudspeaker causes noise which is derived from from the Latin term “nausea“. It has been defined as “unwanted sound, a potential hazard to health and communication dumped into the environment with regard to the adverse effect it may have on unwilling ears.” Noise is defined as an unwanted sound. Sound which pleases the listeners is music and that which causes pain and annoyance is noise. At times, what is music for some can be noise for others. Supreme Court: Noise Pollution (V), In re, (2005) 5 SCC 733 at page 782: 1. The noise level at the boundary of the public place, where loudspeaker or public address system or any other noise source is being used shall not exceed 10 dB(A) above the ambient noise standards for the area or 75 dB(A) whichever is lower. 2. No one shall beat a drum or tom-tom or blow a trumpet or beat or sound any instrument or use any sound amplifier at night (between 10.00 p.m. and 6 a.m.) except in public emergencies. 3. The peripheral noise level of privately-owned sound system shall not exceed by more than 5 dB(A) than the ambient air-quality standard specified for the area in which it is used, at the boundary of the private place. In industrial areas, the permissible limit is 75 dB for daytime and 70 dB at night. In commercial areas, it is 65 dB and 55 dB, while in residential areas it is 55 dB and 45 dB during daytime and night respectively
