Mangaluru, Apr 9: In a tragic accident that occurred on the evening of Friday, April 8, near Ekkaru Durganagar on state highway 67, between two bikes, the rider of a bike fell under the rear tyre of a truck and died on the spot.
Ninad P (23), resident of Kunjathbail and first year MCA student of Nitte technical institute is the unfortunate bike rider who lost his life in this accident.
Ninad was an excellent photographer. His father Padmanabha is an employee of KIOCL and mother Anita is working as lab technician at A J hospital in the city. Ninad has a younger brother.
Ninad and his friend had gone to college in the new bike. As his friend left early from college, Ninad was coming back home from college alone on his bike. When he tried to overtake a tipper truck at Ekkaru Durganagar bend, he collided head on with a bike that was approaching from Bajpe and fell underneath the back tyre of a tipper that was carrying asphalt rock to Bajpe. Though Ninad was wearing helmet, he received severe injuries to his head and died on the spot.
The rider and pillion of the other bike with whom Ninad collided have also received severe injuries and hands of both are fractured. They are admitted to private hospital in the city. They are of Uttar Pradesh origin. They are residents of Moodbidri and were doing polishing work for livelihood.
Bajpe inspector Sandesh P G and team visited the accident site and inspected the spot.
