Bengaluru, Apr 10: A 161 ft tall Panchamukhi Anjaneya Swamy statue was unveiled by Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai at the Bidanagere Basaveshwara Mutt at Bidanagere in Kunigal taluk of Tumakuru district on April 10, Sunday.
Speaking at the function, the Chief Minister said the statue bodes good tidings for Karnataka and lauded the initiative of the Bidanagere Basaveshwara Math.
“Panchamukhi Anjaneya is a special form of Hanuman which has mention in Ramayana. Hanuman took this form for the welfare of the world. It is the divine wish of Hanuman to have his 161 feet tall statue installed in Karnataka. The sculptors have done a wonderful job," Bommai said.
He said many holy works are being taken up on the auspicious occasion of Rama Navami in the region. The region would see huge developments in the coming days.
Nanjavadhoota Swamiji, Harihara Veerashaiva Panchamasali Peeth Seer Sri Vachanananda Swamiji and others were present.
CID to probe Chandru murder
Later speaking to media representatives, Bommai said the State government has decided to hand over the investigation into the JJ Nagar Chandru murder case to the Crime Investigation Department (CID).
Truth should come out of the Chandru murder case. In this background it has been decided to hand over the case to CID after conferring with State DGP and Bengaluru Commissioner of Police, Bommai said.
He said: "Let the third party conduct an impartial investigation. Let the truth come out."
State tour of BJP leaders
The Chief Minister said State BJP leaders would tour the State in three teams. They would hold conventions of district level and booth level party workers. They would hold party conventions in nine places
BJP National General Secretary in-charge of party affairs in Karnataka Arun Singh, State President Nalin Kumar Kateel and senior leader BS Yediyurappa would lead the teams, Bommai said.
