Bengaluru: Alliance University launches Judicial Training Academy

Bengaluru, Apr 12: Alliance University inaugurated the Alliance Judicial Training Academy to help law graduates preparing for the Judicial Services Examinations. The academy was inaugurated by Hon’ble Justice John Michael D' Cunha, former judge of Karnataka High Court in the presence of Abhay G Chebbi, pro-chancellor, Alliance University; Dr Anubha Singh, vice-chancellor, Alliance University; Dr Kiran D Gardner, dean, Alliance School of Law and other administrators, faculty members, students of Alliance University and Alliance Law School Alumni who have successfully cleared judicial services examination. The academy will train law students from Alliance University and other institutions to prepare for judicial services examinations. The course material has been meticulously crafted by the faculty of Alliance School of Law from the syllabi of various state judicial services examinations.

The pro-chancellor, Abhay congratulated the School of Law for launching the Alliance Judicial Training Academy whilst also extending his heartfelt wishes to the students from the University who have cleared judicial services examinations. For aspirants who wish to pursue a career in judiciary services, Abhay advised that they must ensure the judiciary focuses on protecting human rights while also strengthening it, bereft of any political interference. Additionally, he cited that the year 2022 has witnessed several noteworthy events already, as a mark of celebrating 25 years of Alliance Education and wished all the academic units great success for future endeavors.

Dr Anubha Singh, Vice-Chancellor, stated that the Alliance Judicial Training Academy resonates with the passion of Alliance to do more as a law school, as a university and as an entity to provide an opportunity to the aspiring youth of this country who would become leaders of tomorrow as judges and hold the law together as a vehicle of great purpose that gives direction to growth and sustenance of humanity. The aim of Alliance Judicial Training Academy is to provide the students of Alliance and to the aspiring youth of the country, the necessary judicial training and instruction, in order to develop and nurture a highly motivated, competent, and diverse community of legal practitioners, members of the judiciary, judges, lawyers, notaries and judicial staff.

Dean of Alliance School of Law, Dr Kiran D Gardner highlighted the importance of judiciary as a viable career option and emphasized on law students joining bar and the bench. She also talked about future endeavors of Alliance School of Law to bridge the gap between the academics and requirementsof aspirants of a legal profession.

Justice John Michael D'Cunha who was the chief guest at the inaugural ceremony praised the University for starting a course which prepares law students in necessary skills for a career in judiciary and not limiting itself to coaching for the competitive exams. He elaborated upon the skill requirement for judicial services and advised the academy on areas which it should focus on, to prepare students. The address was followed by a question-and-answer session, wherestudents put forward their queries regarding careers in the judiciary.

Alliance University, during the event felicitated Alliance Law School almuni who have successfully cleared judicial services examinations of different states.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks followed by the National Anthem.
