Feb 8: Sensex Flat in Early Trade

Mumbai, Feb 8 (IANS) A benchmark index for Indian equities markets Tuesday was flat in early trade. Broader markets were sluggish too.

The 30-scrip sensitive index (Sensex) of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at 18,141.51 points, was ruling at 18,050.1 points -- up 12.91 points or 0.07 percent from its previous close at 18,037.19 points.

The 50-scrip S&P CNX Nifty of the National Stock Exchange was trading lacklustre at 5,398.3 points.

Broader markets were dull, with the BSE midcap index up 0.25 percent and the BSE small cap index trading 0.05 percent up.
