Mutilated body of teenager found in Bhagalpur

Patna, Apr 20 (IANS): The mutilated body of a teenager was found in Bihar's Bhagalpur district on Wednesday.

The deceased, Jitendra Mandal(17), a native of Lalu Chak under Nathnagar police station in the district, had gone missing on April 16.

In a complaint to police, the deceased's father Gauri Mandal stated that a person named Sunil Kumar had come to their house and Jitendra left with him.

"Jitendra went with Sunil on April 16. When he failed to return home, we searched for him the entire night. Finally, we lodged a missing complaint in the Nath Nagar police station," Gauri Mandal said.

Following Jitendra's disappearance, local police investigated the matter. The mobile phone was tracked which showed his last location as the bank of Jamunia river.

"We thoroughly searched the area and managed to locate the body buried underneath the sand. When we dug the area, we found a mutilated body with both the hands missing and the throat slit. The deceased's father identified him," said an officer of Nath Nagar police station requesting anonymity.

"We have sent the body for post-mortem. Efforts are on to nab Sunil Kumar. He is on the run," the officer said.
