Puttur: St Philomena College bags 17 ranks in Mangalore University exams

Puttur, Apr 22: Mangalore University has officially announced the rank list for undergraduate and the postgraduate examinations held in October/November 2021. St Philomena College has secured a whopping number of ranks. Totally, 17 ranks were bagged by St.Philomena College, out of which six ranks for degree section and 11 ranks for the postgraduate section. This is a glorious achievement by students of St Philomena.

Anu D got 4th rank in BSc with 96.43%, Renilda Joyes Martis got 9th rank with 95.6%, and Ramyashree Rai has received 10th rank by scoring 95.55%.

Rashiya Rai M, with 89.59% has bagged 5th rank in Batchelor of Business Administration (BBA) and Shreya KS has obtained 7th rank with 88.84%.

In BA section, Chetana N has obtained 6th Rank by scoring 88.84% marks.

The performance of PG Students of St Philomena is simply astounding. Totally 11 ranks were shared by PG students. Jainabath Ramseena N got first rank (9.25 CGPA) with the gold medal in Computer Science MSc, and Suhmitha K has obtained the first Rank (8.46 CGPA) in MSc Physics with gold medal.

In Master of Social Work (MSW), Saramma TJ has received the second rank (8.33 CGPA).

Eight students of MCom have obtained ranks. The 4th rank has gone to Nirishma N Suvarna (8.43 CGPA), Yashaswini and Raksha SV have shared 5th rank (8.33 CGPA), Nivin Correa got 6th Rank (8.27 CGPA), Bhavyashree Y and Ramya M has received 9th Rank (8.17 CGPA), and the 10th rank has obtained by Swathi M (8.134 CGPA).

Msgr Antony Patro established St Philomena College in the year 1958. Over the years the college has developed in all spheres. It provides the quality education for all sections of the society and made a mark in the education. Run by the Catholic Board of Education (CBE), headed by Dr Peter Paul Saldanha, bishop of Mangalore diocese, the college has obtained A grade in NAAC accreditation. Every year, the college secures good number of ranks. The year 2022 has been turned into the real golden hunt, and able to garner totally 17 ranks in the Mangalore University examination, the most remarkable achievement.

Fr Jerome Lawrence Mascarenhas, the correspondent of the college and Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro, the Principal of the college complemented the students who have brought the laurels to the college by their outstanding achievement and also their parents and the teachers for their dedicated service.
