Mangaluru, Apr 23: The ‘One Station, One Product’ scheme that was announced in the union budget for 2022-23 has given a new lease of life for the local artisans.

In total, 19 train stations of Palghat section of Southern railway are selected for this scheme. The scheme provides market for local produce.

This scheme was started at Tirupati railway station for the first time and later implemented in Krantiveera Sangoli Rayanna railway station and Mysuru railway stations. Now both the Central and Junction railways stations of Mangaluru are selected for this scheme.

The artisans can sell their product on the platform as well as inside the campus of the railway station. They have to pay Rs 500 as fee for their shops or space occupied.

Look at the station! It looks so uninspiring that anybody selling anything other than essential items like food will run away from it

Great Shame that Palghat Division has to still Cling on to Mangalore ( MANJ ,MAQ , PANB and PANM) . How come the Revenue in Kerala State is still low that Mangalore is still retained by Palghat Division ? All Mangalore Industries have to run to Palghat for their requirement of Wagons at PANM & PANB , MAQ

Kerala is happy to get the trains extended to Mangalore in the North and Nagercoil in the South (instead of Trivandrum) and Coimbatore (instead of Palakkad).... The trains gets cleaned outside Kerala but Keralites take full advantage of the travelling facilities..... Not meant to hurt anyone but that is the fact.

It will be Rs 500 per day not for month. Because at present Central Government is just trying to squeeze every one's Pocket . Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyaan is another way to collect money from poor man's pocket. Mangalore Junction being a starting point of most of the trains, people come to board the the train.

In addition there is greater need to develop both central and junction stations by adding 2 more platforms considering the increase in number of trains. M'lore Junction should be made terminal for all Kerala bound trains and Central station should be exclusively for north and east bound trains.

Along with, please ensure mangalore bound trains reach on time, often they are deprioritised to let kerala bound trains. Get newer bogies in mangalore bound trains, the coaches or its parts belong to a different age. Get few more trains to mangalore from Mumbai, we heckle too much for tickets.

"often they are deprioritised to let kerala bound trains". Get......Very well explained the problems faced by the people of Mangaluru. Why this kerala govt put obstacles in each and every aspect of Mangaluru? Why we are denied from the railway facilities?? When our political representatives listen to our cries and give solutions even god doesnt know....

If your elected representatives are Good for Nothing, don't blame the Kerala Government..... Blame your MLAs / MPs or the Andh Bhakths who elect them..... Karnataka electorate doesn't demand performance from their elected representatives.
