Kundapur, Apr 23: Home Minister Araga Jnanendra on Saturday, April 23, said the government will order a CoD probe into the scam pertaining to recruitment of police sub inspectors (PSI) as soon as it lays its hands on evidences, witnesses and definitive clues.

Speaking to reporters at the Gandhi Grounds before the games commenced here he said asked Congress MLA Priyank Kharge to hand over evidences and the relevant CD to the investigating team if he had them adding that it is unnecessary to take political mileage by issuing baseless allegations.

He said the real culprits should be brought to book but wondered whether Kharge was truly concerned about the case.

The home minister said the needle of suspicion is pointing towards Kharge as he has made sensational claims about the evidences that he claimed to possess.

Jnanendra said an efficient police team has been put together and is totally out to catch the culprits. He said investigations were taking place in all dimensions adding that any other government department comes across irregularities in examining evidences the government will pursue the matter to its logical conclusion.

He said 545 candidates had cleared the exams and OMR question papers would be subject to scrutiny.

Pertaining to the Hubballi riots, the home minister said the Bangla angle will also be probed along with all other possibilities. He said due to the deft handling by the police the incident did not take a turn akin to K G Halli riots.

He said temples and public property had suffered the brunt of the riots. He said suitable action will be taken after studying the losses and how they could be recovered.

The home minister said due to security reasons, Pramod Mutalik's programme in Gangolli had been restricted. He said it is important to see how events can be managed rather than banning them citing example of how the government had controlled the crowds during Puneeth Rajkumar funeral procession in Bengaluru and the incidents that followed in Hubballi and Shivamogga.

Jnanendra said as chief minister Siddaramaiah had withdrawn cases against communal organisations but he is now calling for a ban on such organisations which speaks of his double standards. He said a home department didn't exist during Siddaramaiah's regime. He said Siddaramaiah had no moral right to level charges against me when he was running an administration with the help of a retired police official.

The minister said the unity of the country was important to us and not vote politics as was being followed by the Congress.

Aragaji... With due respect to you, nowadays with internet and social media, public representatives like you cannot just escape by giving general statements, like " We will set up Committee, Conduct COD Probe etc to hood wink the public. These days things are different. In fact the other day a sarcastic poster clip which I think emnated from your own party supporters. It was a poster of a film to be released in Kannada" Katina Krama Kai Golutheve " something. You Aragaji, Bommai and R Ashok or somebody were shown in the posters as Heroes !! I had that Kannada thing translated... You know what it means??
