Mangaluru Apr 25: One person died on the spot in an accident at Jeppinamogaru between a lorry and a two-wheeler.

The deceased has been identified as Ronald (59), who was riding the two-wheeler when the accident happened. The lorry knocked the two-wheeler from behind. MLA U T Khader who was on his way helped the injured in shifting him to the hospital.

MLA U T Khader said, "On April 24 night a accident occurred right in front of my eyes at Jeppinamogaru, where a two-wheeler rider died on the spot, aged 59. The driver of the lorry was drunk and the owner of lorry should be put behind bars. It is unfortunate that the ambulance arrived at the spot of the accident after 40 minutes. There has been a series of accidents along the Pumpwell-Talapady stretch. In the past few years, several lives have been lost in accidents along that stretch. When you look at the stretch from Pumpwell to Talpady there is no reflector or any signboards. Due to the mismanagement of National Highway Authority of India, a series of accidents have been taking place. The District administration should seriously consider this issue,” he said.
