Mangaluru, Apr 28: The 36 th Annual Athletic Meet of NMAM Institute of Technology, Nitte was organized by the Department of Physical Education & Sports, NMAMIT on Thursday, April 28at B C Alva Sports Complex Athletics Ground, Nitte.

Vijaya Alva, former cricket captain of Mangalore University inaugurated the sports meet. He, in his inaugural address, stressed the importance of sports activities in maintaining the physical and mental health of any individual.

Dr Niranjan N Chiplunkar, Principal, NMAMIT in his presidential remarks, motivated the students to take part in most of the sports competitions.

Dr Srinivasa Rao B R, vice principal and comptroller of examination, Yogeesh Hegde, registrar of Nitte campus were also present on the stage.

Ganesh Poojary, physical education director, NMAMIT welcomed the gathering.

Sowjanya, physical education coach introduced the chief guest. Shyamsundar M, sports administrator proposed a vote of thanks. Dr Roshan Fernandes, associate professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering was the master of the ceremony.
