Amit Shah to visit Bengaluru on May 3, Cabinet expansion to come up: CM

Bengaluru, Apr 29: Union Home Minister Amit is likely to visit Bengaluru on May 3 and the opportunity will be utilised for getting the green signal for cabinet expansion, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said on Friday, April 29.

Speaking to media persons at a function here, the Chief Minister said he will try to discuss the cabinet expansion. There are five vacancies in the Cabinet, including the recent slot created by the resignation of K S Eshwarappa.

Bommai said that he may not be discussing the cabinet expansion during his visit to Delhi to participate in the conference of chief ministers.

The party’s central leaders have informed that they will take a decision at the appropriate time, the Chief Minister said.

Union Human Resources Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, who is in Bengaluru, called on the Chief Minister and held discussions with him earlier. Education Minister B C Nagesh and Chief Minister’s Political Secretary D N Jeevaraj accompanied the chief Minister.

FMCG Cluster Scheme to create 1 lakh jobs

The Chief Minister said the ambitious FMCG Cluster Scheme aimed at creating 1 lakh job opportunities will be launched from this year itself.

The Teju Group, which has developed FMCG Cluster in Dharwad, is establishing its unit in Bengaluru with the launch of its masala products.

The country needs industries to serve the interests and needs of the people. Bengaluru has over 180 research centres pertaining to all key sectors of economy and is the number one in IT/BT and Export sectors, he said urging the entrepreneurs to make use of the facilities provided by the government for starting new enterprises.

Earlier, the Chief Minister commenced works worth over Rs 1400 crore in Davangere district.

Former Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa, Revenue Minister R Ashok, Water Resources Minister Govind M Karjol, Industries Minister Murugesh R Nirani, Transport Minister B Sriramulu, MLA Jagaluru Ramachandra, Chief Minister’s Police Secretary MP Renukacharaya and others were present.
