Mangaluru, Apr 30: In a shocking incident that occurred at Chembugudde near Thokottu on the outskirts of the city, a water supply tanker driver attacked a youth with sword for questioning the abuses the driver hurled at his mother.

Rizwan, resident of Chembugudde is the victim of this attack. Khaleel, resident of Ullal Bastipadpu is the accused who attacked Rizwan.

According to the details available, accused Khaleel used derogatory words while abusing a woman near Chembugudde while supplying water for which he has contract with the city corporation. The woman informed the matter to her son Rizwan, who went near the well where the water was being filled into tanker and had an argument with accused Khaleel. In a fit of rage, Khaleel hit Rizwan with sword and injured him. Rizwan was immediately admitted to hospital and is said to be out of danger.

Khaleel is a rowdy sheeter and has pending cases against him in Ullal police station. Police are investigating.
