Chikkamagaluru, Apr 30: “Zameer Ahmed’s name is being heard behind the violence that took place in Hubballi recently. Congress instigates violence and then plays the drama of pacifying the same,” said C T Ravi, MLA and chief national secretary of BJP.

Speaking to media in the city, Ravi further said, “Zameer Ahmed has distributed Ramzan kit to those who are accused in Hubballi violence. The Congress had role in the violence that took place earlier in K G Halli and D J Halli. Congress provided finance and lawyer for the accused. Zameer’s name popped up during that time also. The Congress is trying to secure its vote bank.

“The behaviour of Congress and Zameer are giving clues about their role in supporting and aiding the culprits of violence. There was suspicion that apart from PFI, Congress is also involved in Hijab controversy. The Congress which calls itself as secular, supported Hijab row. They provided lawyers whose minimum fee is Rs 50 lac.

“The Congress is experts in shielding hooligans. They thought that BJP also has the same culture. If that was the case, Divya Hagaragi would not have been arrested. An FIR is filed against her. The BJP never protects any criminals.

“It was the BJP government which threatened Divya by saying that her assets will be seized if she does not surrender. When the Congress government was in power, the issue of an expensive watch was raised. But the investigation of that was never done on that,” he said.
