Madikeri, May 1: In a heart wrenching incident that is reported from Kakotuparambu Nalkeri village of south Kodagu, a two-and-a-half year old boy and a six-month old girl were orphaned as their father killed their mother over an argument.
Sumithra (25), who was residing in a farm house was killed by her husband Chomacchira Lava. Lava attacked her with an iron rod on Friday night and slept in another room. When other labourers checked in the morning, they found that Sumithra was dead and on questioning Lava, he confessed to the crime.
Police arrested Lava, leaving behind the two toddlers, who are orphaned by the act of their father.
SP Aiyappa, Virajpet DySP Gajendra Prasad, CI Shiva Rudrappa, rural station PSI Siddalinga visited the spot and are investigating further.
