due to extreme heat food spoils early... in summer, avoid shawarma.... there is tendency in restaurants to use more spice / add-ons to food at the time material is about to spoil... they will make more spicy and add extra spices/favour/aroma/seasoning to hide the decadent quality of the food material... especially in so called "Chinese" items, the food material used is the variety that is turning spoilt....

I got poisoned from this dish even in Dubai. It is kept outside in a open condition & roasted daily all the time. As there are few customers (due to it's bad reputation) it is then returned to the fridge at night. Meat cannot be handled this way for long as mycotoxins are born this way.

This is a major problem in Indian cities , no food hygenies is maintained. Particularly the roadside shops and this shawarma centres are not clean . I have seen last time my visit to india these shops in and around Kozhikode and kasargod stations selling shawarma. There is no cleanliness , meat is hanging in open on this rods, and all type of dust , smokes of vehicles, houseflies and other insects, green sandas flies , beetles etc is sitting on this meats and same things they serve , plates is not washed properly also. Most these outlets are not having license . On my way to Karivellor last time I ate one Arabian bun and one special samosa in such outlet and I was falling ill with loose motions and had to stop the bus also . 2 days I suffered taking pantopazole and ORS and loperamide . After that experience I am careful not to eat in such places. Food authorities must take regular steps and inspect the food outlets . Many workers in these places is not maintaining proper cleanliness and can be seen wearing dirty clothes dirty hands touching the foods , scratching all over body etc . Proper education and implement of law is required in this matter

Even in Mangalore guys please do not consume the shawarma sold. There is no hygiene and cleanliness from dust, smoke and houseflies. Even the quality is not upto the mark. Why risk with our lives?

Rita, Germany, Shawarma is an Arab meat preparation, where lamb, chicken, turkey, beef, veal, or mixed meats are placed on a spit (commonly a vertical spit in restaurants), and may be grilled for as long as a day. Presently, this preparation is available in India and generally given inside a folded chapati to customers. I think, in India, once prepared, they may be giving it still it lasts, may be for some days. Freshly prepared, Shawarma will not be poisonous.

Hi, Its Arabic non messy food akin to a grill meat/Burger , Spiced chicken / beef, which is stacked on a rod which rotates round a gas fired griller and gets roasted . Its then shaved of using a sharp knife or a electrical meat shaver and the pieces are wrapped up in a flat bread ( like chapati/Tortilla) with sauces and spiced up. This is a turkish food and commonly found in middle east , akin to Burger of west,
