Mangaluru, May 2: Former MLA Ramanath Rai said, “BJP has a misconception that they will secure votes in the name of religion and not by development. A day will come when BJP will regret.”

Addressing media here on Monday May 2, Rai said, “The commercial LPG price and the prices of petrol and diesel price been hiked is affecting the public. The government has failed to control the rising prices. The negligence of the central government is burdening the public. Prime Minister Narendra Modi held the state governments responsible for the high prices of fuel. During the Manmohan Singh government, the then opposition BJP were protesting on the streets over fuel price hike. The then Congress government never blamed state government for the same.”

He further said, “The BJP also blames Congress every now and then if any riot takes place for which they cannot give any proof. So far, none of the Congress representative names are mentioned in any murder FIRs. I challenge the BJP to show me the names of Congress leaders in such cases. The Congress has not involved in any single provocative speech which disrupts the harmony of the society. We always emphasize in maintaining peace and harmony. The then state government led by Siddaramaiah introduced several pro-people schemes and he never failed in it. The BJP has the misconception that they will secure vote in the name of religion and not by development. They will regret about this very soon.”

District Congress president Harish Kumar, Congress leaders Shashidhar Hegde, Appi, Naveen D’Souza and others were present.

I guess Congress with the help of Mr, Rai is on the road ,to rout the Congress again in Bantwal Constituency. Do they realize their entire support base has slowly shifted to AAP, including myself.

Congress is now famous for repeatedly shooting itself in the foot ... Punjab a cakewalk made a mess and Aap capitalised ... Likewise Goa .. The then governor openly took the Bjp Goa govt to task on corruption etc but as now regular pattern congress made a mess ..in Goa ... Chidambaram etc ... Likewise uttarpradesh ...Many candidates lost deposits because of Poor candidate selection .in . uttarpradesh... Similarly Uttarakhand ..... There is more internal sabotage always in congress ...

I follow Coastal Karnataka politics closely. Honestly I never thought Cingress would lose base and popularity as speedily as it has done here. To think only Ullal is in Congress cusp is unthinkable ! Who is responsible for all this?? Religion ?? Whose religion?

Harish,,, BJP is ruling Mangalore . So they can afford to do it. DK now is a badrakote for the BJP,. Any Chunnu Munnu candidate will win in BJP from these constituencies if an election held today. That does not mean that Congress should go down the same road. For sure its not a strategy for survival for the Congress party.

There is no need to wait for that some day... Already there is quite a strong public resentment against the incumbent party in the state... Sowing hatred among common men will only have a flash affect... Public will soon realize the perils of the divide and rule policy...
