Food 'Health & Safety' officials and their incharge should be taken for task - Lack Food handing knowledge and its set of rules is basic issue here . - Food control department has to go for orientation training for knowledge of food handling like cold food - cold cuts - hot food etc and it s temperature handing etc should be known to them before they control food outlets.

The govt should do raids on all shawarma joints which have mushroomed all over Mangalore and on the highways from mangalore to nileshwar . there is no system in place for hygienic standards . majority of these food joints belong to one community and will cry harassment if govt takes action on them.

What can you expect in a country like ours; moreover people throng such eateries because the rates are very cheap compared to licensed restaurants.

Rudolf Rodrigues Mumbai, atleast strict control should be there. That makes one to fear to keep standard. Now and then controller must check it and close if standard is not there.Give licence to who can show to one done course.Other side corruption also is there .Thats the sad side of it .Now heavy punishment to owner ,closer and compansation to the family of dead should be imposed.

Restaurant Manager Ahmed should be fed with the same Shigella bacteria infested food. That will send out a message to all restaurant owners to maintain hygiene

A severe Shigella infection can spread into the blood, which can be life-threatening. However, the overall case fatality rate is roughly 4%! IMHO, It's not possible that the unfortunate victim may have died due to some other poison?

Ingredients like mayonnaise and tahina are to be stored properly... Also stacking fresh meat on old left out meat is dangerous... Very very unfortunate incident... Can happen anywhere... I remember in Dubai two children died after consuming chinese food from a popular restaurant in Al Quasis...
