Former minister B J Puttaswamy to take up 'sanyasa deeksha' on May 6

Daijiworld Media Network – Bengaluru (DV)

Bengaluru, May 4: “I am retiring from a 50 year-long political life and stepping into spiritual life. I will receive 'sanyasa deeksha' from Jayendra Theertha Puri Mahaswami of Rajarajeshwari Temple Kailasa Math on May 6,” said former minister and former deputy chairman of Planning Commission BJ Puttaswamy.

“I will be taking 'Deeksha' as the first Pitadipathi of Thaileshwara Ganiga Mahasamsthana on May 6,” he said.

Puttaswamy is a close associate of former chief minister (CM) B S Yediyurappa and he was also his political secretary to him. Later, he was also a minister of cooperation. The BJP government had appointed him as State Planning Commission’s deputy chairman. He resigned from post on April 30.

“As per my knowledge, there are Swamijis called 'Mantrika', 'Vedic', 'Swartha' and 'Ashirvadha'. Lastly, there are Swamijis who reform the society. I am receiving this 'Deekshe' as a social reformer swamiji,” said Puttaswamy.

Puttaswamy will be ordained as the first Swamiji of Thaileshwara Ganigara Mahasanthana on May 15.

CM Basavaraj Bommai, former CMs Yediyurappa. Siddaramaiah, HD Kumaraswamy and several others will take part.

Puttaswamy will lead the Thaileshwara Ganigara Mahasamsthana Math located in Madanayakanahalli in Bengaluru under the name Swarnanada Puri Swamiji.

The very idea of renouncing the world and its false values (ಮಿಥ್ಯ) on the part of a politician is really a praiseworthy step. But in every religion, in a dedicated life (ಸಂನ್ಯಾಸ) one begins as a disciple (ಶಿಷ್ಯ) or a novice. But this man goes to become the supreme head (ಪೀಠಾಧಿಪತಿ) right away. What kind of renunciation (ಸಂನ್ಯಾಸ) is this? He jumps from a top political position to a top religious position. The motives seem very very suspicious.

Good decision to retire and embrace Sanyasa. But then you still have hopes to come back to active politics, wearing orange / saffron color clothes, for a better tomorrow. May you find peace within you and outside you. May God reveal the secrets of a a better life than what it was

After taking Sanyasa Deeksha please Work for peace, harmony and love in society. Avoid dividing communities into communal and religious lines. Then it is worth taking deeksha and you will attain Moksha. Otherwise remain as you are.
