Udupi: Police escort two naxalites to Karkala for investigations

Udupi, May 4: The police personnel have escorted two Naxalites to Karkala for investigations. They are Shringeri residents B G Krishnamurthy and Chikkamagaluru resident Savitri.

B G Krishnamurthy was the leader of the Naxal force since 2005. He was arrested at Wayanad, Karnataka border on November 9, 2021.

In all, 53 cases are pending against B G Krishnamurthy and 22 cases are under investigations against Savitri. Savitri is the leader of Kozhikode Kabini gang of Wayanad, Kerala.

Police will question them and conduct investigations on about 12 cases pertaining to Udupi against them during the next 21 in custody.

A tight police security has been provided to Karkala, Hebri and Ajekar police stations in Udupi where Krishnamurthy and Savitri are being questioned.
