NCR lodged against Atishi, Raghav Chadha for 'derogatory' remarks against BJP

New Delhi, May 5 (IANS): Delhi Police have filed a Non-Cognizable Report (NCR) against Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders Raghav Chadha and Atishi for allegedly calling the BJP a party of 'thieves', 'uneducated' and 'hooligans'.

The NCR accessed by IANS was filed with the cyber police station under Section 500 of the IPC by the IT head of Bhartiya Janta Yuva Morcha, Abhishek Dubey, who accused the AAP leaders of misleading the people and defaming the saffron party.

Speaking with IANS, Dubey said that it was Raghav Chadha who tweeted against his party, while Atishi also tweeted derogatory words and levelled baseless allegations and hence he decided to lodge a case against them.

"People could be misled after reading their tweets. They also tried to tarnish the image of our party. I will also file a defamation case against both of them before the concerned court," Dubey said.

The police said that after receiving the complaint, they took legal opinion and deemed it a fit case for lodging an NCR.
