Customs confiscate gold worth Rs 43.69 lac in two cases at Mangaluru International Airport

Mangaluru, May 6: Customs officials at the Mangaluru International Airport here, confiscated gold worth Rs 43.69 lac in two separate cases of illegal trafficking of the precious metal.

In the first case, a man, passenger who arrived from Dubai, was carrying gold in paste form. This came to light during checking. The officials confiscated 732 gram of 24 Carat purity gold from him. The worth of the confiscated gold is Rs 37,69,800.

In another case, gold worth Rs 6,00,181 was confiscated from a passenger, who had kept the gold in four pieces at the bottom of Nestle diary cream tin.
