Daijiworld Media Network – Bantwal (MS)

Bantwal, May 6: A towing truck driver lost control and crashed into shops, hotel and bus stand at Kodaje on Mani-Mysuru state highway on Friday May 6. The driver is grievously injured and is admitted to a hospital in Mangaluru.

The towing truck was plying from Puttur to Mangaluru.

It is gathered that the driver reportedly lost control and the truck smashed into Nandini milk booth, bakery bus stand, mobile shop and hotel at Kodaje junction.

It is learnt that the truck is of Sirsi origin. As the mishap occurred at 1 am in the night a major tragedy is averted as the Kodaje junction is always busy with people. A few shops were badly damaged in the incident.

may be the driver instead of taking the empty truck thought of towing the shops also...these are common in third world countries...shops so close to highways are always in danger....same thing happened in Kottara near infosys many years ago..a private city bus entered into milk booth...luckily the lady survived..but chaltha hai...we are more concerned about beef, jihad, saffron flags etc..

Imagine Kerala , all states the roads were built to connect through the cities but in Kerala, the city was built on the roads . Just drive from Kasaragod to Thrissur and after that you will visit every heart of the city on the way and will decide never to drive in Kerala again. Worst infrastructure ever ! Keralites would have built some best roads but in some other state or country as everyone works outside the state for survival.

Must have fallen asleep... Compulsions of duty make drivers work for longer... Lucky no third party was injured... Wishing speedy recovery to the driver...
