Bantwal: Sahul Hameed arrested on charges of abetting to Kanyana minor girl’s suicide

Bantwal, May 6: Police have arrested Sahul Hameed alias Kutta on charges of abetment to suicide after a minor girl ended her life in a rented house on Wednesday at Kaniyooru of Kanyana village under Vittal police station stations of Bantwal taluk, recently

After the incident came to light the victim's father Sanjeeva had filed a police complaint alleging Sahul Hameed alias Kutta as responsible for the incident.

After receiving the complaint, the police have booked the accused under Section 305 of IPC and column 3(2)(V), 3(2)(va) of The SC & ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Amendment Act 2015.

After the incident, the accused was found to be absconding. 

Continuing the probe, under the guidance of Assistant Superintendent of Police Shivanshu Rajput, the police officers had formed two teams to nab the accused Sahul Hammed, who is a resident of Kaniyooru, Telakki .

The accused was arrested on Thursday night from Aleki of Kukkala village Mandanthyar of Belthangady taluk on Thursday night. The police in a media release stated that the accused will be produced before the court.

The operation was carried out under the leadership of Superintendent of Police Rishikesh Bhagawan Sonawane and Additional SP Kumachandra, Bantwal Sub-Division Assistant Superintendent of Police Shivanshu Rajput  Inspector Nagaraj H, PSI Sandeep Kumar Shetty and PSI Manjunath T P, while staffers Dany Francis Tauro, Prasanna, Seetharam Hemaraj, Ashok, Shridhar, Kumar, District technical team Samapath Kumar, Diwakar also played a major role in arresting the accused.
