Mangaluru: Complaint against 4 for cheating man of Rs 40 lac offering VA post

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangaluru (MS)

Mangaluru, May 8: A case is filed by a man accusing four people of cheating him to the tune of Rs 40 lac by offering to get him a village accountant's (VA) post.

The complaint has been filed by Krishna Gowda (66), a resident of Aloor in Hassan with the cyber police station against Nagabhushan of Bengaluru, Narayanaswamy of Vamanjoor, Mahesh Bhat of Mulki and Dinesh of Moodbidri.

Darshan C K, son of complainant Krishna Gowda got acquainted with Hemavati of Hassan, Lohith of Chikkamagalur and Mohammed Sharif of Bengaluru, during his training in a coaching centre in Bengaluru. In 2019, he had applied for the post of village accountant. Meanwhile, Sheriff had conveyed this matter to Mahesh Bhat of Mulki who used to visit his neighbourhood for pooja.

Mahesh Bhat had said that he knows Narayana Swamy, an official in CBI, who has got connection with the politicians and police department and assured that he could get the work done.

Mohammed and the other three who believed Mahesh Bhat went to his house in August 2019 and met Narayanaswamy. Narayanaswamy said that he would speak to Nagabhushan in Bengaluru and Dinesh of Moodbidri and get the job of VA if the candidate's side was able to pay the amount demanded by them. It is said that Krishna Gowda paid Rs 8 lac to Narayanaswamy at his residence in Vamanjoor.

When Krishna Gowda asked for the appointment order, the accused said that due to certain reasons, it was getting delayed. In September 2021, the accused asked Krishna Gowda to come to Bengaluru to collect the appointment order and issued them a fake letter. Krishna Gowda and his son Darshan believed that the fake order shown to them was real and gave the remaining amount of Rs 32 lac on October 24, 2021 to Narayanaswamy.

Later, when Darshan asked about the appointment, the accused started giving some lame excuses. When Krishna Gowda spoke rudely over the phone, the accused threatened to burn him alive after dousing him with petrol if he complained to the police claiming that they knew influential politicians.
Following this, Krishna Gowda filed a complaint with the police.

The circle of corruption.///The Village Accountant is bottom-most rung of the ladder, in the village panchayat, looking after the land of the country in each district headed by the District Collector./// The land of this country is being doled out free to people who control large groups of people in return for vote banks and to people who can return favours(in kind) to the govt. officials./// If its 40 lakh for the VA post then.....?//Solutions to breaking the circle of corruption.// Excerpts from Chapt. “ causes of political corruption in India” from “ Breaking Free of Nehru- Let’s unleash India” by Sanjeev Sabhlok(former IAS). Quote GOOD CANDIDATES PREVENTED FROM CONTESTING...Conducting a general election costs the Election Commission hundreds of crores of rupees.... But we quickly baulk at the likelihood that candidates, too, need to spend similar, if not greater amounts of money, collectively, to take their message to us..... Organizing and paying for public meetings for the hundreds of workers involved, including paying for their transportation and food, as well as for posters and pamphlets. • Once candidates are elected, money is needed to look after persons from their large......... constituency .. • Continuing costs of retaining key campaigners for the next election; MPs and MLAs often distribute significant amounts of personal money to various organizations in their constituencies, such as youth clubs in remote villages, to ensure support for their future campaigns.... Indian politics is therefore very daunting, not only being sweaty, grimy and fraught with risks to life, but also very expensive. The questions that arise are: • Who ultimately pays for these expenditures?.. What is the 'take-home' salary of a political representative upon being elected? Is this occupation financially rewarding?....... What we need to get there is to allocate just one rupee out of every hundred rupees that we earn as a nation, or one per cent of our country's GDP, towards

Unfortunately only we the eduacted middle class realise that he was paying money for a job that would pay him bribes more than 100 times. He also should be arrested but we all know even the cops get thier cops the same way. This is not a country for the civilised and educated. I hope i get to leave this corrupt society one day.

This person who paid Rs 40 lakhs as a bribe to secure a VA's job should be booked and put behind bars first. This is how the bribe business thrives.
