Bengaluru: Bommai to Delhi on May 10 – Will cabinet expansion take place finally?

Daijiworld Media Network – Bengaluru (MS)

Bengaluru, May 9: Will the much-awaited cabinet expansion of state take place at least this time? This question is being asked by the political observers of Karnataka as chief minister (CM) Basavaraj Bommai is called again to Delhi on May 10.

The main reason of Bommai’s trip to Delhi is to hold discussion with ambassadors of various countries and high commissioners in the wake of the Invest Karnataka programme that is scheduled to take place in November this year. There are possibilities that CM Bommai may meet J P Nadda, national president of BJP and discuss about expanding state cabinet.

It is said that for the same reason Bommai has postponed his arrival to the city to Wednesday night instead of Tuesday.

There is a possibility of CM Bommai discussing inclusion of leaders joining BJP from other political parties. It is said that the high command objected the inclusion of many leaders including Varthoor Prakash to BJP on May 7. For the same reason, it is said, union minister Prahlad Joshi held separate discussion at Bengaluru international airport and convinced the top brass of the party.

If the high command agrees, the cabinet expansion is going to take place within two or three days as per party sources.

How many trips to Delhi? Why did Amit Shah came to Bangalore few days back? Whose money you are wasting on these trips? Cabinet expansion only to benefit the ministers and not general public.

This fellow seems to be having just one job - to keep travelling to Delhi to take instructions. He appears to be more of a messenger than the Chief Minister. Quiet and well mannered decent fellow but totally under the beck and call of the high command. He is not even authorised to open his mouth and speak.

Often any political party is not felled by opposition.... But by the greed of its own members... Hunger for power and ministership of several BJP leaders in the state has forced CM to ignore developmental issues... He is now trying hard to keep disgruntled power seekers happy and at bay... This will only work against the prospects of the incumbent party...
