Tulu Koota Kuwait holds Sports meet

Kuwait City, May 12: Tulu Koota Kuwait (TKK) organized the indoor Sports meet at American International School-Maidan Hawally under the leadership of dynamic president Sanath Kumar Shetty and coordinated by Sports secretary Lionel Mascarenhas on Friday, May 6. Kabaddi for men and throwball for ladies was held during the sports event.

Compere of the occasion Dr Preethi Shetty welcomed the audience and chief guests for the event Nora Al-Suwaiti, Huzefa Abbasi Sadanpurwala of Al Mulla Exchange-Kuwait, and Preema Pereira from Badr Al Sama Medical center.

The programme kick-started with a grand procession and unveiling ceremony of TKK logo, traditional materials from Tulunadu, champion banners, and Trophies. This was followed by Kuwait and Indian national anthems.

The programme began with the lighting of the lamp by the president along with chief guests, advisors, and the managing committee. In his welcome speech Sanath Kumar Shetty emphasized the significance of this sports meet after two long years of the corona pandemic. While praising the efforts and dedication of the managing and all committees who worked tirelessly behind the scene he appealed for continuous support and active participation. He honored the Sports secretary, Lionel Mascarenhas, with a traditional shawl. Sports secretary then performed the ritual of breaking the coconut to give a head start to the event.

In her speech, chief guest Nora Al-Suwaiti expressed her views and mentioned that she is thrilled to address the Indian community in Kuwait. She also mentioned the importance of Indians being an integral part of the Kuwaiti community. While thanking the organizers, she encouraged all the sports lovers by explaining the importance of sports in our daily lives.

Huzefa Abbasi Sadanpurwala - marketing manager of Al Mulla exchange delivered his inaugural speech on PR communications. While congratulating TKK for organizing this sports event, he praised the long-standing relationship between Al Mulla Exchange and Tulu Koota Kuwait.

The beautiful inaugural ceremony concept was directed by talented committee member Suresh Salian which was well coordinated by Jagadeeshwar Shanubhogue, Dr Preethi Shetty, Vanitha Vinod Kumar and Shoba Harish Bhandary.

The whole event was well organized and coordinated by the young and dynamic Sports secretary Lionel Mascarenhas.

After the inauguration ceremony, all the teams actively participated in their respective games and kept all spectators engaged and entertained. The winners of the competitions were awarded trophies and medals. The best player was awarded for their outstanding performance in each game. The special award 'Emerging Team' was awarded as a consolation prize for the fourth winner.

Firoz and Arif from TVS Hyder group presided as chief guests for the award ceremony of the event.

Committee member Sushma Manoj Bangera, cultural secretary Manoj Shetty, and advisor Ramesh Bhandary encouraged the players with the match proceedings and score announcements.

Special first aid counter and doctors were arranged by the Badr Al Sama Medical Center.

Both Games were umpired by the referees Ravi Kumar, Lakshmi Devi, Shyam, Ramesh Kumar, and TKK advisor Wilson D’souza.

The event was broadcasted live on the YouTube live channel by Rishwan and Marwan team. The event photography was done by Prashanth Ferrao. The sound system was managed by Anand D’Souza. Delicious lunch and refreshments for the event were served by Sangeetha Restaurant Kuwait.

Tulu Koota Kuwait takes this opportunity to thank its committee members, members, and volunteers for their dedicated efforts, team spirit, and active participation that eventually lead to the huge success of Sports Event.
