'Disguised' Rahul has Quiet Holiday in Coorg

Madikeri, Feb 24 (TOI): Even a political scion is entitled to his days of peace and quiet, away from the political din and media glare. Away from his party's troubles, 39-year-old Rahul Gandhi visited Kodagu with friends from February 16 to 20.

Rahul flew into Calicut last Wednesday, and drove to the Now and Neverland resort around midnight at the nearby Chelavara.

With 31 friends from Kerala and New Delhi for company, he is said to have enjoyed a quiet time. Rahul spent the four days rock climbing and working out at the gym. He returned to Calicut on February 20.

While participating in adventure sports in Kodagu, Rahul injured his leg and was treated at a private hospital at Ammathi. Rahul was so well-disguised he succeeded in making the doctors mistake him for a foreign tourist. Gautham, manager of Now and Neverland, said Rahul seemed to enjoy himself during his stay.

Rahul Gandhi gets out of car, helps accident victim

New Delhi, Feb 24:  Rahul ka haath, aam aadmi ke saath. The Congress General Secretary virtually lived the slogan on Tuesday evening when he lent a helping hand to a 43-year-old man who had fallen down from his motorcycle after being hit by a car on Krishna Menon Marg.

Rahul was going that way when he spotted the injured man on the road. He stopped his cavalcade, enquired about the man's condition and then got him shifted to one of his escort vehicles. He then asked the security personnel to take him to a hospital. The accident took place near the residence of the former Prime Minister, Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

"A Police Control Room van reached the spot and piloted Mr. Gandhi's escort vehicle to the Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital where the victim Kale Ram, a resident of Dakshinpuri, was treated," said a police officer.

Ram, who works with the New Delhi Municipal Council, was going to his office at Palika Kendra on a motorcycle around noon when he was hit by an Innova car from behind. He lost his balance, fell on the road and sustained shoulder injuries.

The driver of the car, Ajay, has been arrested. A case of causing injury due to rash and negligent driving has been lodged against him at Tuglaq road police station. The vehicle has also been impounded. An eyewitness said that the Congress MP made all arrangements to take the victim to the hospital and also asked him to take care of the man's belongings till the police arrived.

@ Sampath , Mlore/ Blore when the person is in trouble no one will ask to which party he belongs either BJP or congress or JDS. The same thing Rahul did as a human being.

@Jossey Saldanha, Mapusa, GOA Karnataka ranks 2nd in the development not in the last 5 list. First comes Gujarat. Your general knowledge is poor brother, please dont give wrong information.

I appreciate this guy Rahul. At least he did not ask his mother to get him some prime land to build a house or start his own business. I still don’t understand why people take pleasure in calling Sonia Gandhi as Italian servant / waitress. It would have been very easy for her to pack up her bags and leave the country after her husband got killed by terrorists.
Sonia has a lot of grit and thanks to her vision India is the second fastest growing economy in the world today while the rest of the world is still struggling with recession.
Look at Karnataka today. During Congress rule this state stood among the first five and today Karnataka has slipped to the last five. If only our Karnataka leaders can take a few lessons are two from Sonia.

Rahuls gimmick will never work. see the most brilliant comment made by nitish kumar during bihar election when rahul criticized nitish of doing anything. nitish told him let him take some responsibility by becoming minister and do the work. this rahul is good for nothing . he want to become pm directly. see how india is suffering from one of the weakest but honest pm today. its time to throw congress out of india.we have brilliant peoples like nitish and many more in the opposition yoy can lead from front.

There is a hope with Mr.Rahul Gandhi.
Will the other power hungry politicians from his own party and opposition allow him to work for a better India!? They may go to any extent to avoid him from taking the top job.
