Al Jubail: Global Toastmasters Club Conducts Int’l Speech and Table Topic Contests

Al Jubail, Feb 24:  Global Toastmasters Club, a prominent community club here headed by Mangalorean president Shameer Ahmed conducted the international speech and table topic contests at Al Jude village on Tuesday February.




Sergeant at arm TM Huzaiffa Warorawalla opened the meeting and invited president Shameer Ahmed who presided over the meeting. The president greeted and welcomed the audience in his usual trade mark style.

As per the Global Club tradition, he invited the dignitaries like area 53 governor, TM PJJ Antony- and many more stalwart of toastmasters to the stage to honour them with bouquet.  Dr Sayed Hameed, principal, International Indian School was the chief guest.  

The president outlined that conducting such speech contest was an important part of educational programme, as it provided opportunity to the speakers to gain the contest experience and at the same time to excel in their talent. True to the theme of the year ‘Energy to Grow Together’, president said that they were involved in energizing the budding toastmasters to take charge of the event.   He introduced the master of ceremony TM Ramaswamy.

After the brief introduction, he handed over the lectern to International Speech contest master TM Asif Siddiqui. The contest master conducted the entire Int’l speech contest with ease. There were seven participants in the contest. Distinguished Toastmaster Taher Moinuddin emerged as the winner.

After the short break of 15 minutes, the MC called Table Topic Contest master TM Asif Rajput to conduct the Table Topic session. Contest master asked all the contestants to leave the hall and called one by one to tackle the table topic in Table Topic Contest. Again distinguished toastmaster Taher Moinuddin emerged the winner.

President asked chief guest Dr Sayeed Hameed and Div. ‘L’ assistant governor E& T TM Jacob Kuriakos to address the audience. Forthcoming Div. ’L’ conference was updated by Conf chair DTM Jagadeesan Kumar and TM Jamal Zaheer. Vote of thanks was proposed by budding toastmaster Jaycee Meneses.  The panel of judge was headed by TM Antony James with 7 judges to select the deserved contestant winner of the club.

The president Shameer Ahmed was successful in his mission to bring up the new budding toastmaster to the fore, he assigned all new members to conduct the event, even  of the contestants were debutants and he achieved his goal in making toastmasters  a true platform for the new aspiring leaders and communicators.

At the end of the programme certificates were distributed to all the assignees.

First Runner-up – TM Aziz Siddiqui
Second Runner-up – TM Binod Sahoo
 
Table Topic:
Winner – DTM Taher Moinuddin
First Runner-up – TM N.V. Arasu
