Mangaluru: Econovanza, fest of Economics Department conducted at St Aloysius College

Mangaluru, May 21: Econovanza, the fest of the Economics Department was conducted on May 18 in Eric Mathias Hall. The theme was a reunion as the annual competition was at a standstill during the pandemic.

Aruna P Kamath, principal, SDM College was the chief guest and inaugurated the programme. In her inaugural address, she spoke about the various skills required for the overall development of an individual. Emphasis was given to thinking out of the box to succeed in life. She said programmes such as these will enable the personality of students. 

 

Dr Norbert Lobo, the acting principal, director, Admin block and associate professor of economics delivered the presidential address.

There were ten different competitions with nine teams participating.

The valedictory address was given by Dr John Edward D'Silva, director, Xavier Block, St Aloysius College (Autonomous). During the valedictory Dr John E D'Silva was felicitated as he attains superannuation.

Alwyn Misquith and Reji John, staff conveners, Ankith and Roicy Pinto, the student coordinators and Dr Priya S Shetty the head of the department were present.
