Dubai, Feb 26 : Days of deep slumber will be history promises KY and Sangon Mugdana Kalakar with their launch of "OOTRE UZWADLE!!! " social comedy drama - written and directed by Pradeep Barboza. The drama is aimed to generate funds for the youth group’s social cause ‘Together For Someone’.
Together For Someone’ is a social initiative dedicated to support Mangalorean youth who are stranded in helpless situations. This program is organized by the youth group in aid of Sebastin Bastav, a Mangalorean youth who was the sole bread winner of a family of 9 members, 5 of his own children, 1 his deceased sister’s and then his wife and mother. He had come to UAE in a hope of a earning a better living and supporting the basic needs of the family. He started his work as a marble cleaner/polisher using strong chemicals without proper safety measures for a meager salary of Dhs.700/-. Now all he has left with infected lungs, kidney stone and unemployment.
The Muhurat was held at Al Mas Hotel in Dubai in February. The Konkani drama will be the Barboza’s 7th directorial venture in UAE.
Pradeep Barboza the ace artiste who have proven his mettle with Super Hit Plays "Sangon Mugdhana", "Sagale Divenche Taane", "Hasthay Keetya Peeshya" said “Previously we have mentored KY team for their Konkani drama "Ami Kedala Sudronk?"drama and also have received strategic support from the youth group for our shows. I was very motivated when the youth group proposed their ‘Together For Someone’ social initiative, a cause to support the needy. I have been a active member of youth associations in Mangalore and have closely associated with KY from long. Many of our youth stray from the community and KY has really taken the helms of affairs to bring Konkan youth residing in Dubai under their umbrella. This drama is sure to wake up many from deep slumber literally as I am very excited to start a brand new humorous script. It will be hilarious, entertaining and a drama with message. Working with the youth group is always fun, we are happy to support the youth on a pure non commercial partnership to help the needy”
The drama is planned for release by the third quarter of 2011. This will be the third time KY and SMK group working together and the play is expected to break all the previous records with this rib tickling comedy "OOTRE UZWADLE!!!"
President of the youth group Stephen Nazareth said: “We have a strategic alliance with Sangon Mugdhana Kalakar group, we have worked in association with Sangon Mugdhana Kalakar over 3 projects in last one year. For us this project is more than just celebrating our continued relationship with Sangon Mugdhana Kalakar, this first ever large scale project from KY is a part of our ‘Together For Someone’ social initiative. This initiative is focused helping our brothers and sister who are in need of support.
As a socially responsible group we will remain dedicated to our primary objective to do whatever it takes to assist the needy. We will leave no stone unturned to ensure our ‘Together For Somone’ campaign will be able to help us set up permanent funds to support the cause. Our ultimate objective is to provide shelter to Konkan youth who are Below the Poverty Line and cross shores to earn a living. As a part of long term vision we have plans in place to set up accommodation similar to the ‘Kudan’ housing facility for Mangalorean youth in Mumbai and we aim to reach that goal by 2015”
