Mangalore, Feb 28: The CD of 13 hymns titled “Death, Judgment, Hell and Heaven” based on the four last things (Nimanyo chaar vostu, morn zadthi, yemkond and sarg) written and composed by Sr Millicent, 83, was released by Fr Bonaventure Nazareth, Parish priest of Valencia. It was released soon after the Sunday morning mass on February 27, 2011, in the presence of thousands of parishioners. This is the second CD of Millicent whose earlier CD “Muje Thayin Jiye” containing 11 Konkani Charismatic songs was released 1½ year back.
Fr Bonaventure Nazareth, speaking on the occasion lauded the efforts put in by Sr Millicent who, he said, despite her old age has taken pains to write and compose hymns. He said she is an inspiration to the youngsters as she had channelized her time and energy on something that is useful to the people in general.
Earlier Sr Lilly, Counsel to mother superior of Ursuline Franciscan Sisters (UFS) and Fr Abraham D Souza of Divine Call Centre, Mulky, felicitated Sr Millicent with a shawl, for her unique accomplishments. Sr Millicent also felicitated Simon Pais, Bajal, for all the help he rendered in brining out both the CD’s.
Sr Millicent has donated the CD’s to Valencia Parish, to Bondel parish, to which she belongs to, to St Josephs Seminary, Divine Call Centre Mulky and some other catholic institutions, where the CD’s can be used fruitfully.
Sr Aurea, Superior of Holy Rosary Convent, Jeppu, and other inmates of the convent, relatives and well-wishers of Sr Millicent were present during the release.
