Mount Carmel Central school ushers in new academic year with zest

Mangaluru, May 29: Mount Carmel Central School ushered in the new academic year 2022-23 with zest for the students of grade I to X and XII on Saturday, May 28.

The welcome assembly was held in the school auditorium in two groups, for the primary and the middle school to senior secondary students. The assembly commenced with a prayer service led by the students of Grade X, invoking the divine blessings and offering the entire year to God’s care and protection.

Teacher Zanet welcomed the principal Sr Melissa, administrator Sr Carissima, the faculty members and the students. Principal Sr Melissa welcomed the new staff with a rose each.  In her address, she acquainted the students with the vision and mission of the school and captured the significant approaches to life and schooling.

Illuminating the school motto "Higher and Nobler", she suggested everyone to aim higher and be nobler in all that we say and do. Sr Melissa suggested to the students to inculcate a personal motto "present and now and never tomorrow”. The students were informed about the general rules and guidelines to be followed throughout the year.

After the welcome assembly, the class teachers met the students in their respective classrooms and oriented them about the school and its functioning. The students were happy, enthusiastic and energised themselves for a wonderful new academic year 2022-23.
