Mangaluru: 62 school buildings in dilapidated condition in DK, monsoon threatens collapse

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangaluru (MS)

Mangaluru, May 29: The building of Belaringe Government School collapsed during a day-long rain that lashed Kinya recently. But this is not just one school that is posing danger to the lives of students in the district of Dakshina Kannada (DK). A whopping 62 school buildings are on the verge of collapse.
Fortunately in the school building that collapsed at Kinya, no children were inside the classrooms. It is estimated that Rs 1.75 crore is required for repairing the dilapidated schools of Dakshina Kannada.

Every year, a budget provision is made for the repair of government school buildings. In the last two years, the schools did not run due to Covid pandemic. However, the grant was also not released for the same. That is why the repair work has stalled for the two to three years. But the education department gives a list to the engineering department of Panchayat Raj every year.

At present, 15 schools in Bantwal, five in Beltangady, 14 in Mangaluru, nine in Moodbidri, 10 in Puttur and nine schools in Sullia need urgent repairs.

Panchayat Raj engineering department officials say that they have already visited the schools and instructed the head teacher and SDMC not to hold classes in buildings which need repair.

According to school teacher Jagadish, more than 300 schools in Dakshina Kannada are having buildings that are in a precarious condition. "The government is not releasing grants on time. During the rainy season, these school buildings may pose danger to the lives of students," he expressed concern.

Before government start repairing, let them check with sharan pumpwel to have a thamboola check.. if it belongs to him then let him spend for it. Unnecessary don’t spend government money.

Probably, the news of the declaration made by Nirav Modi in London Court, may not be printed or shown on TV in India. He said, he did not run away, but was sent out of the country by BJP. Out of the loan of 13,200 crores, he said, all have got the share. His company got only 32 percent. Only one person opened his mouth. But, there are 38 other Gujarathis, who ran away or rather sent away, by Modi govt to save their skin. Chowkidar Chor Hai is a reality. Citizens tax money to the extent of 1.76 lakh crores was swindled by these Gujarathis and then distributed among Modi friends. If they have received only a fraction of the loan like Nirav Modi, how much amount might have been shared by BJP politicians ? When top to bottom, corruption is there, where will be money for school buildings ?

In simple this BJ peee government does not want educated population. It is a 3 edged sword. One side government doesn't need to spend on infra, books, uniform, breakfast, lunch etc, secondly the more the educated, the more demand for jobs, protests and government has to answer, thirdly they can use them for petty politics in the name of religion. India is shining! Enter Amrut Kaal.

When there is a 'budget provision' irrespective of whether school was closed during pandemic or not, the government should be having this excess funds. Release them to get them repaired. Kahin aisa toh nahi ki paisa 40% ho gaya? Never trust these chindi chors.

What a terrible time India is witnessing.. We have all the time to talk/fight/worry about god(whom nobody has seen)/religion but not about schools. These are the schools which uplifted most of the people from poverty. But now who cares.. People including politicians are busy in their own "world of religion/cast"..
