Bengaluru: Met department forecasts likely monsoon in Karnataka on June 2

Bengaluru, May 30: The meteorological department has forecast that there are possibilities of the monsoon entering south interior and coastal regions of Karnataka on June 2 itself.

Monsoon entered Kerala on May 29, three days ahead of the usual schedule. Generally three to four days after the monsoon enters Kerala, the coastal regions of Karnataka receive rain, according to A Prasad, a scientist from the meteorological department, Bengaluru centre.

With monsoon in Kerala on May 29, the possibilities of the coastal districts of Udupi, Dakshina Kannada and Uttara Kannada, south interior parts of Bengaluru city, rural, Ramnagara, Chamarajanaga and Malnad districts of Chikkamagalur, Shivamogga, Hassan and Kodagu are supposed to receive rains on the night of June 2 or June 3.
