Mangaluru: Bikkarnakatte accident – One declared brain dead, organs to be donated

Mangaluru, May 31: Dheeraj, who was injured in two-wheeler accident at Bikkarnakatte, was declared brain dead on Monday May 30 night.

The deceased's heart, heart valves, liver and kidneys will be donated, said family and hospital sources. 

It may be recalled, Dheeraj and Ganesh who were severely injured after their scooter hit the divider opposite Usmania Complex near Masood Education and Charitable Trust at Bikkarnakatte in city at around 2.15 AM on Sunday May 29.

An auto rickshaw driver passing by the way, saw the youths fallen on the road. He lifted them with help of other members of the public and took them to A J hospital.

It is said that over speeding and negligence by Ganesh, the scooter rider is the cause of this mishap. He was going to drop Dheeraj to his house.

A case in this connection was registered in traffic east police station of the city.

    i also have the same doubt about one particular hospital in mangaland...where most of the accident cases end up in brain death....it seeems this also is flourishing business...one person's organs meand crores of rupees...family members would not know whether he can survive or not....medical profession is no more respectable just like education sector...all corrupt..

    Kujuji henceforth people should stop announcing donations in every form especially in this field. Automatically, brain deaths will be stopped...Also, some hospitals are soo greedy, they conduct costliest surgeries even after knowing the fact that patient might die within a day or so. Then again money for keeping in ventilator....
