Udupi, May 31: The Udupi city is gearing up for the Brahmakalashotsava of Kadiyali Sri Mahishamardini temple and roads are dazzlling with colourful lights. The religious ritual will be held for 10 days with religious grandeur. It will start from Wednesday, June 1 and end on Friday, June 10.
Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai will visit the temple on Wednesday, June 1 along with other ministers in the morning.
Everyday there will be rituals performed from morning to evening.
Brahmakalshotsava will be conducted on Wednesday, June 8 at 7.50 AM. Maha anna santharpane is arranged for the devotees, which will start from 12.00 noon.
Punyahavachana, Ganayaga, Kalashabhisheka, Panchadurga mantra will be held on the same day..
Mahapooje at 10.30 AM, Avasrutha Bali, Palla Pooje at 11.30 AM and Rangapooje, Bali Utsava, Rathotsava will be on June 8.

This 1500-old temple in the city. There is a design in the temple with a rotating roof, which is beautifully carved out of wood at a cost of Rs 3.5 lacs. This has become a center of attraction for the devotees.
On Wednesday, June 1, Horekanike programme is organized. The procession will commence from Jodukatte, Udupi and will enter the temple premises after passing through the main roads. The procession including Chande, Dolu traditional trumpets and cultural teams will participate in the Horekanike.
Religious leaders have been invited for the programme. They will deliver the blessings in the evening.
Sri Vishwaprasanna Theertha Swamiji of Pejawar Math will be inaugurating the religious and cultural programmes on Friday, June 3 and dignitaries will be present for the programme. Pejawar Swamiji will deliver a blessing address.
Followed by the stage programme, there will be cultural programmes everyday.
On Saturday, June 4, Sri Vishwavallabha Theertha Swamiji of Sode Math will grace the occasion.
On Sunday, June 5, Sri Sugunendra Theertha Swamiji of Puttige will take part in Dharma Vedike.
On Monday June 6, Sri Vedavardhana Theertha Swamiji of Shiroor Math will be present.
On Tuesday, June 7, Sri Vidyavallabha Theertha Swamiji of Kaniyoor math, on Wednesday, June 8, Sri Ishapriya Theertha Swamiji of Admar Math, on Thursday, June 8, Sri Vidyavallabha Theertha Swamiji of Palimaru Math will be gracing the evening stage functions.
The Brahmakalashotsava will conclude with the Pilichandi and Parivara Daiva Kola event on the last day.
The committee is expecting lakhs of devotees to throng the Kadiyali temple for 10 days.
