Mangaluru: Delay in arrival of expert team - Organ donation of Bikarnakatte accident victim fails

Mangaluru, Jun 1: The organ donation of scooter accident victim who was declared brain dead by the doctors of A J Hospital could not be carried out as the experts’ team from Bengaluru reached late to city.

Dheeraj (25), resident of Kudupu Katte was seriously injured when his scooter hit the road divider at Bikarnakatte on the early morning of May 29. He was admitted to A J hospital in the city.

On Monday, May 30, night the doctors declared Dheeraj brain dead. Family members of Dheeraj decided to donate his organs.

A team from Chennai rushed to the city in a chartered flight. But another team of experts from Bengaluru reached the city late. Due to the delay, Dheeraj’s organs could not be donated.
