Mangaluru: Ullal police arrest two for stealing bike

Mangaluru, June 2: Ullal police on June 1, Wednesday arrested two youths in connection with a bike theft case.

The arrested are Abdul Rasheed (23), a resident of Cherkala of Kasargod and Abdul Shabeer (21), a resident of Kunjarooppara.

It is said that on April 25, a bike was parked near Yenepoya Hospital in Deralakatte went missing. The bike belonged to Ranjith, a resident of Bagambila. A case was registered at Ullal police station.

The bike was traced on June 1 when Ullal PSI Pradeep TR and staff were checking vehicles on Uchila bridge. As police did not find the number plate on the bike, police chased the vehicle and stopped them, and the incident came to light. It is learnt that both had planned to sell the bike after using it.

Under the guidance ACP Dinakar Shetty, Ullal Police Inspector Sandeep GS, PSI Pradeep TR, PSI Revanna Siddappa, ASI Shekar Gatti, staff Praveen Shetty, Ranjith Kumar, Ashok, Chidanand, Vasudev and Akbar took part in the arrest.
