Udupi: Padubidri police raid illegal slaughterhouse, arrest four accused

Udupi, June 2: Padubidri police raided an illegal abattoir that was functioning in a house near Juma mosque in Bhasker Nagar here.

Police arrested four accused, rescued a live calf, and confiscated the meat of a cow that was slaughtered and meat that was cut for sale on Thursday evening, June 2.

The slaughterhouse is functioning in the residence of Saban in Bhasker Nagar, Uchila and the raid was conducted after receiving definite information.

Those arrested are Mohammed Rafik, Ilyas, Mohammed Mohiddin and Moidinabba. Diu Rafik, the prime accused, has fled.

Kaup circle police inspector Prakash, Padubidri station inspector Purushotham and Padubidri police personnel took part in the operation.
