Puttur, June 3: Three miscreants who are not students reportedly entered Uppinangady Government First Grade College on June 2 and erbally and physically abused a Muslim girl student asking why she was present in the campus. The college has been in news for hijab controversy.
The complainant is a student of second B Com who had come to the college at 9.30 AM on June 2.
The three miscreants identified Ajith Kumar K, Pravin Kumar and Siddik Niraje allegedly hurled expletives at the girl and tried to pull her shawl. Meanwhile, Ajith Kumar started shooting a video. When the girl asked them who they were and why they were shooting the video, they threatened to stop her from coming to the college the next day and make the video go viral.
The girl in turn complained to the principal who got the video deleted. The three men were later identified as journalists. The complainant was scared and explained the matter at home.
A case in this connection is registered at Uppinangady police station under registration No. 70/2022 IPC sections 447, 354, 504, 506 and 34.
