Mangaluru, Jun 5: There is a possibility of rains getting intense in coastal districts of Karnataka. A yellow alert has been sounded in coastal districts of Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Uttara Kannada from June 5 to 8.
Rain accompanied with thunder and lightning will shower during this period as per the information provided by the meteorological department.
Many parts of coastal districts received rain with thunder on the early morning of Saturday, June 4. However, during the day and evening, the weather was cloudy with high humidity.
According to the weather experts, the south interior districts of Karnataka will also receive copious amounts of rain on Sunday and Monday. Yellow alert is declared in those districts as well on June 5 and 6 by the IMD.
