Karkala, Jun 6: Unidentified miscreants put up a board on a road that falls under the limits of Bola gram panchayat of the taluk naming it as Nathuram Godse road. Youth Congress leaders who saw the board expressed their rage and asked the concerned authorities to remove the same. After much uproar on social media and visit of local panchayat officials to the spot, the board was removed under police protection.

Before the removal of the board, Youth Congress leaders visited the spot. Yogish Inna, president of Youth Congress said, “The road is named after the first terrorist of independent India. The PDO says that there is no relation for the name board and the panchayat. According to PDO, some miscreants have put the board. We urge the administration to remove the board immediately. Otherwise, we will hold a fierce protest.” 

Fortunately, the issue was resolved quickly with the intervention of police and panchayat officials.
