Mangaluru, Jun 7: The post-graduate department of Psychology and Clinical Psychology of St Agnes College (Autonomous), Mangaluru, has organized a 5 day residential workshop at Matha Kripa Kaikamba.
The workshop is designed for the second year students pursuing their MSc in Psychology and Clinical Psychology and is conducted by S M P Staney, the CEO and head of resources at Atmara, a center based in Chennai which focuses on counselling, psychotherapy and life skill training. The programme was initiated by Sheryl, a second year student of Psychology, by reciting a prayer invoking the blessings of the almighty for the workshop.
Sharon, a second-year student of Clinical Psychology served as the MC for the day and the welcome speech was given by Srikruthika, a second-year student of Psychology.
Following this, Dr V Premanand, HOD, and associate professor, Department of Psychology at St Agnes, introduced the resource person, Staney, and also elaborated on what the upcoming days of the workshop would entail. Following this, Staney proceeded with the day’s session by engaging the students in activities aimed at ice breaking and officially began the 5 day's workshop.
Following this, the day’s session started with the students receiving an orientation about building rapport and getting an orientation about the various types of proves which are generally used during therapy.
