Udupi, June 8: “BJP is sending Chaddis to the KPCC office. We could have distributed them properly if they had sent them to the district office. They are indulging in a Chaddi campaign to cover up for their lapses. They are making a progressive coastal district as a laboratory,” said former minister Vinay Kumar Sorake while criticising the BJP.

“Ours was the number one district in education. They did hijab controversy here and took it to the international level. What is the education department in the state doing? They are doing these things for the next elections. Those who want to commit suicide also are selecting Udupi district,” he said.

“There is weight in whatever Siddaramaih does. District leaders do not respond to his statements. Let Bommai and Yediyurappa answer him. Let them ask Siddaramaih how to run the administration. The Congress stand about hijab has not changed,” he said.

“There was competition between BJP and SDPI in Kaup. They have submitted nominations and celebrated their win together. Both BJP and SDPI fell in love in Kaup. A child is born for them in Udupi. Hijab is the child of BJP and SDPI. Though Khader is a Muslim, he has explained the reality to his community. Does Bommai have that courage?” he asked.

Reacting to the naming of the road after Godse at Karkala, he said that BJP has made the coast as their laboratory. “What is the reason to make the name of Godse appear on the board in Karkala? Discussions are being held in the United Nations about Gandhiji. There is no nation in the world without the signs of Mahatma Gandhiji. They are celebrating the birth anniversary of the killer of Gandhiji. They construct temples and make signboards in his name. One must understand the BJP mentality,” he said.
