Udupi, Jun 9: “The hijab issue that originated in Udupi is not a trivial matter. It was not created for the sake of a piece of cloth, but to divide the country. This needs to be taken seriously,” said Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat.

Bhat was speaking at the special religious discourse programme that was held on Wednesday, June 8 at Dharmavedike of Kadiyali Sri Mahishamardini Temple.

Bhat further said, “The saffron shawl worn by Hindu students created more controversy than the hijab worn by Muslim girl students. The Hindu society should react. The hijab issue became international news just because we challenged that we will not allow this to continue. Because some people feel irritated with saffron. As the Hindu society kept quiet, India got divided. So till what time we have to wait with patience?

“In today’s times more and more Mahishamardinis are required to suppress the demons. She did not kill but slaughtered. Three times they approached Supreme Court questioning the verdict. The court has given them the right answer.

“Religion and dharma are not the same. Dharma means our life style. Religion means the way we adore. The only great dharma on earth is Hindu dharma. It should be understood properly. Unfortunately, without understanding people are trying to join everything together.

“In Sarva Dharma Sammelana, there is no Sarva Dharma at all. Hindus do not have a specific God or way of adoring God. We make pooja for the betterment of society,” he said.

In his blessing speech, Palimar Math seer Sri Vidhyadheeshatheertha said, “God means our father. Kadiyali Devi is our mother. Man should give up his arrogance. Devi has got the power to take out the dirt from the mind of human beings. If a person leaves his ego and comes in search of Devi, she will bless him. Temple is like a court. It will give solution to all problems. Both Udupi Sri Krishna Math and Kadiyali temple have everlasting bond. Even today the old tradition is continuing.”

In his blessing discourse, Sri Gurudevananda Swamiji of Bantwal Odiyoor Math said, “The revolving covering sculpted in wood at the Kadiyali temple shows creativity. We should be more aware in today’s situation. Mother Devi has to stand up and kill the demons. All are riding on Hindu society. “

Honorary president of Kadiyali temple Nadoja G Shankar presided over the function.
