Udupi: Annual feast of St Anthony's Shrine to be celebrated on June 13

Udupi, June 10: The annual feast of the St Anthony's Shrine Manjarpalke Pakala, Belman will be celebrated on Monday June 13.

St Anthony's Shrine Manjarpalke Pakala is a reverred place. The place is believed to be divine and many miracles have taken place. Every year the annual feast is celebrated in the shrine with grandeur.

On Monday, June 13 festival Eucharistic Mass will be celebrated at 10;30 am. Fr Leslie Clifford D'souza, parish priest, Shirva church, will be the main celebrant for the Eucharistic celebration. Eucharistic celebration will also be held at 4 pm on the day.

In preparation for the annual feast, novena prayers will be held on June 10 and June 11 at 4 pm. On Sunday June 12, at 4 pm Eucharistic celebration in Kannada will be celebrated for the devotees. Fr Cyril Lobo, director Divya Jyothi will celebrate the Eucharistic celebration in Kannada.

The sub-station at Pakala, Manjarapalke, is under Belman parish situated at Padubidri-Karkala-Kudremukh state highway, about 50 kilometers from Mangaluru and about two kilometers from Belman church (towards Karkala). The sub-station, known as 'St Anthony's Shrine', was less known. In the last 30 years, the devotion of St Anthony has spread immensely. Numerous miracles and favours were received by the devotees which has made this shrine famous as people from all walks of life in and around Belman flock to the site during the annual feast and relic feast every year. Every Tuesday at 4 pm novena prayers and Eucharistic mass is celebrated. On every first Tuesday adoration of Holy Sacrament is held.
