Udupi, Jun 11: All Karnataka fishermen committee urged SP of district to provide suitable protection to Yashpal Suvarna, who is known as religious, social, cooperative and political leader, from miscreants who have threatened him with death on social media.

Office bearers of the committee, who met SP Vishnuvardhan on Friday, June 10, said, “From last one week. threatening posts are made on Instagram by miscreants who have posted inflammatory comments of Rs 10 lac award to anyone who cuts Yashpal Suvarna’s head.

“Yashpal Suvarna is a national leader of backward communities, chief organizing secretary of all India fisheries association, honorary advisor of all Karnataka fishermen committee, president of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi Fish marketing Federation, president of Mahalaxmi cooperative bank limited Udupi and active member of many other organizations. He is in the forefront of resolving issues of public. Fishermen community condemns the threat posed on his life.

“Strict action should be taken against the miscreants who have threatened Yashpal Suvarna on social media and he should be provided with suitable protection.”
